And so it begins…
Once upon a time (aka not that long ago), two guys sat side-by-side in corporate America.
Todd was serving as Director of Business Development. Ryan was holding it down as Head of National Accounts.
We liked the work. We respected the people. But we also kept having the same quiet (and not-so-quiet) conversation: “We’ve got a lot more to offer the foodservice and hospitality industries—especially when it comes to sustainability.”
After enough back and forth debate, they agreed to form a small business. That business then did what many great ideas do at first—it sat idle for over 3 months as a “side hustle” that mostly lived in Google Docs and late-night conversations.
Then a plot twist. Todd was let go from his job, which meant the side hustle suddenly became… the main hustle (at least for him). He jumped in full-time and got to work building a roadmap based on years of experience in sustainable packaging, decorated apparel, and promotional products. The goal was simple: lead with sustainability without wasting customers’ time, money, or sanity.
That roadmap led to a naming debate that lasted longer than it should have (because of course it did). Eventually, we landed on Eco Maven—with sustainable sourcing as the tagline. The name reflects what we’re aiming for: helping clients make smarter material choices whenever possible, without breaking the bank or creating massive opportunity costs. Sustainability, but practical.
In January 2026, Ryan made the leap too. Corporate jobs officially behind us, we both leaned all the way in.
From there, Eco Maven grew quickly—carefully, but quickly. We began picking up product and service lines as brokers, with one non-negotiable rule: everything had to have a sustainability component and actually solve real problems for customers in the foodservice and hospitality industries.
Today, Eco Maven supports hotels, restaurants, QSRs, airlines, cruise lines, schools, universities, corporate cafeterias, food trucks, stadiums, theaters, and more. We also work closely with several foodservice distributors throughout the country. After just a year of grinding, testing, refining, and learning the hard way, we now represent over 10 product and service lines, including:
Sustainable packaging (home-compostable paper hot & cold cups, straws, lids, portion cups, coated paper products, molded pulp containers, folding cartons, labels, and more)
Industrial cleaning products that are safe, effective, and easier on the planet
Equipment that turns food scrap waste into soil amendments (for compost acceleration or livestock feed)
Recycling services with digital dashboards that track diversion and carbon footprint data
Flexible packaging made with virgin, 100% PCR resin and/or bio-based resins
Home compostable produce bags, trash liners and other flexible packaging applications
Promotional products designed with sustainability in mind (yes, bamboo pens included)
Decorated apparel—t-shirts, hoodies, backpacks, and more—done responsibly
As Eco Maven continues to grow, we’ve reached a new milestone: we officially need a place to call home (HQ, coming soon 👀). We’re still grinding, still learning, still improving—and we’re just getting started.
More to come. Stay tuned.
